Southerly 110

Centayne is a very good example of the successful Southerly 110 class of family cruising yacht. She has Southerly blue topsides giving her a distinctive and pleasing look.

Currently based on the East Coast for which she is ideal. She is a frequent visitor to the East Coasts many ports and anchorages and can visit places there that fin keeled yachts cannot go. The lifting keel system is perfect for where she is based.

The Southerly 110 is also noted for safety. She has an incredibly high righting moment allowing her to carry sail longer than most yachts without reefing and may be part of the reason why some owners have chosen her for their blue water and transoceanic cruising including the ARC in which one came 2nd in her class and the Azores and Back 2 handed race in which one won her class.

Below decks, you will find a beautifully finished and well designed interior with lots of berth options and a fabulous aft cabin.

we highly recommend your inspecting this yacht.

Manufacturer Provided Description

The Southerly 110 embodies the established features of the Southerly range, which have proved popular over many years. The modern hull and rig set very high standards of performance, versatility and sheer good looks which appeals to family and cruising yachtsmen alike. Her aft cockpit, plumb bow line and twin rudder configuration, combined with her sail plan, makes her a fast, fun and exhilarating yacht to sail. Whitlock direct steering, combined with the twin rudder arrangement gives instantly responsive steering, making helming this yacht a real pleasure. Even when the wind increases and gusts attempt to push her off course, the hull form and deep draft of the Swing Keel enables her to stand up to the wind and carry her canvas, whilst the twin rudders give exceptional directional stability and control. In fact, the Southerly 110 is so light on the helm she will sail herself most of the time. Single line mainsail reefing and a furling genoa make sail handling easy – ideal for family or short handed sailing. The tall fractional rig and self tacking jib (as Southerly 35RS rig) is a popular option, to enjoy your sailing with minimum effort. The self tacking jib means you can tack spontaneously, without effort, allowing you to sail in conditions that a conventional sail plan may not allow, such as in a harbour or congested area. The unique Swing Keel provides deep draft performance (deeper than most yachts), for powerful windward performance. At the 'touch of a button' the keel can be raised to just 2'4'' for shallow draft freedom, allowing you to sail in coastal areas and inland waters. As with all Southerlys, the yacht will also dry out and sit upright. As you board the Southerly 110, Northshore’s traditional quality of build shines through. Good all round views, a spacious saloon, open galley, raised chart table and large aft cabin are particular features on this yacht.
